Cancellation of Council Meeting

Due to the funeral of our beloved Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II there will be no Town Council meeting on Monday 19th September, this has been cancelled and the next arranged meeting of the Town Council will be Monday 17th October.

It is with deep sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Members of Norton Town Council would like to express their sadness at the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Royal family at this deeply sad time as they mourn their loss.

After so many years of dedicated service to the people of the UK and the Commonwealth, I am sure everyone will agree that we have lost a truly remarkable woman. To be still carrying out her royal duties just two days before her death perfectly illustrates her commitment to her role as Monarch and this steadfast dedication is an inspiration to us all.

Norton Town Council will be flying our flag at half-mast as a mark of respect during the period of mourning before the funeral.

Ryedale District Council has also opened up the grounds of Ryedale House for the placing of flowers in memory of Her Majesty and a book of condolences will be available to sign within the building for any residents wishing to do so.
